LEGAL
Terms & conditions
Effective 6 October 2026 · These terms govern netfortress.tech and the NetFortress Firewall Appliance.
Registering, buying or activating a licence means you accept them.
1. The short version
We sell network security licences, plainly and without tricks. Every installation gets a 60-day full trial
before you pay anything, the Home Lite tier is free forever, and nothing ever renews automatically.
If anything below is unclear, ask us before you buy — write to
[email protected].
2. Your account
- Give us accurate details and keep your credentials safe — activity under your account is your responsibility.
- One account per person, one person per account. Two-factor authentication is available and recommended.
- We can suspend accounts used for fraud, abuse, or licence tampering.
3. Licences and editions
- A licence authorises one appliance installation (tied to its installation ID) up to its device limit and account limit, as shown on the licence and the pricing page.
- The 60-day trial gives every installation the full feature set. When it ends the appliance falls back to the free Home Lite tier: DNS blocking and the block page keep protecting your network, with visible reminders — protection never silently stops.
- Home Lite protects up to 50 devices with DNS blocking and the block page, free, forever.
4. Payments and subscriptions
- Payments are processed by our payment gateways: PayFast (card, EFT, instant EFT) or Stitch (card, Capitec Pay, Apple Pay / Google Pay). Card and bank details are captured by the gateway on its own secure pages — they never touch our servers.
- Prices are in Rand; international visitors see an indicative USD price converted at our current exchange rate, and are charged the Rand equivalent.
- Monthly licences can auto-renew: tick “Auto-renew monthly” at checkout and PayFast deducts the monthly price each month (auto-renew collections run on PayFast; purchases made through Stitch are one-off payments that you renew by paying again). You can cancel anytime, free — from your dashboard or inside your PayFast account; cancelling stops future deductions and your licence runs to its expiry. Without auto-renew, nothing charges by itself — you renew by paying again. Annual licences are once-off.
- Perpetual licences include 12 months of product updates and keep working unchanged afterwards.
5. Device add-on packs
- Every edition from Home to Corporate has once-off device packs — each pack adds its stated number of protected devices to your active licence of the matching edition, applied automatically when payment completes.
- Packs stack — buy as many as you need. A pack belongs to the licence it was bought for and cannot be moved between licences or accounts.
- Need a custom size? Contact support — device limits on any licence can also be set by hand.
6. Fair use
- Device and account limits are enforced. Don’t bypass them, publish licence keys, or run more appliances than you are licensed for.
- Don’t use the service to break the law or attack networks you don’t own.
7. Your network, your call
NetFortress is a security tool, not a security guarantee. You stay responsible for your network’s
configuration, your backups, and how you respond to incidents on your own hardware.
8. Our software
- The software is licensed, not sold. The appliance core ships compiled and integrity-protected.
- Don’t reverse-engineer, decompile, or strip those protections, and don’t remove or tamper with the licence and integrity mechanisms.
9. Changes
We may change these terms and our prices. We give notice by email or on the site, and changes never
remove something you have already paid for.
10. Warranty and liability
- To the extent the law allows, the service is provided “as is”. We don’t promise uninterrupted or error-free operation.
- Our total liability for any claim is capped at what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your rights under the South African Consumer Protection Act.
11. Governing law and contact
South African law governs these terms. Disputes go first to good-faith negotiation — start one by emailing
[email protected].
